Leak Investigations

Through many years of experience we have learned that the key to a successful leak investigation is to pursue all possible sources of water infiltration, as there may be more than one contributing factor. AMR Engineering will combine empirical knowledge with prescribed engineering methodologies found in ASTM E2128-01a Standard Guide for Evaluating Water Leakage of Building Walls.

We will assist in determining the source(s) of water infiltration through hands-on and visual inspections using a combination of non-destructive testing and more traditional methods of probes and water tests. Our non-destructive testing techniques include:

  • Infrared imaging to identify temperature variations that result in insulation compromised by moisture
  • Roof and wall moisture scanners and moisture meters to perform impedance testing to identify the relative moisture content of the material
  • Electric field vector mapping to identify the precise location of water infiltration
